Bobby Lee Jones

Bobby Lee Jones, 84, of Bluefield, VA, formerly of Nemours, WV, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family. Born February 22, 1941 in Freeman, WV, Bob was the son of the late Harold and Irma Turner Jones. Bob was a retired long distance truck driver and a proud veteran of the United States Army, 82nd Airborne. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Michael Jones; and a daughter, Lisa Welch; a sister Mary Chadwell; and brothers Sam Jones, Johnny Jones, and Jerry Jones.

Those left to cherish Bob's memory are his loving wife, Mary Jane Roman Jones of the home; son, Mark Jones and wife, Buffy of Brushfork, WV; sister, Linda Punturi and husband, Bobby of Bluefield, WV; 4 grandchildren, Hannah Jones, Brianne Hall and husband, Kris, Aislinn Tibbetts and husband, Brandon, and Turner Welch and wife, Chelsey; and 8 great-grandchildrren, Brecken Tibbetts, Brinley Tibbetts, Brooke Tibbetts, Keaton Hall, Layla Hall, Karson Hall, Lexton Welch, and Zaden Welch.

Graveside Military Rites will be conducted 2:00 PM, Monday, February 9, 2026 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel with the Mercer County Veteran's Honor Guard holding the service. Interment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
