Betty Jean Wood

Betty Jean Wood, 93, of Bluefield, WV, passed Monday, December 18, 2023, at her home.

Born June 2, 1930, in Mercer County, she was a daughter of the late Dellas Lawrence and Irene Reatha White Barlow. Betty was a life-long resident of Mercer County and worked at J.C. Penny’s.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Harton.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Calvin E. Whitteker and wife Sue of Bluefield, WV; grandsons, Michael Whitteker and wife Ashley of Princeton, WV, and Mark Whitteker and wife Karen of Raleigh, NC; and two great granddaughters, Kaitlyn Whitteker of Raleigh, NC, and Kristina Whitteker of Fairbanks, AL.

Graveside rites will be held Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV, with Rev. James Milam officiating.
