Bertha Clide Glass

Bertha Clide Steele Glass 84 of Bluewell died peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Princeton Health Care Center. 

Bertha was born January 22, 1941. She was the daughter of the late Ward G Steele and Dollres Tedder Steele.

Bertha graduated from Montcalm High School in 1959.

Bertha graduated from Concord College with a bachelor's degree in elementary education.

Bertha retired from the Mercer County Board. She worked at Montcalm Elementary and Bluewell Elementary. She taught for 31 years.

Bertha loved children, her family, and serving the Lord.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Ruth Davis, Stella Griffith, and her husband Earl Glass.

Those left to cherish her memory are Hazel Blankenship, Marvin and Judy Steele, and several nieces and nephews.

A time of reflection will be held in the chapel of Cravens and Shires Funeral Home for family and friends on Monday, January 19, 2026 at 1:00 PM with Rev. James Milam officiating. Friends may call prior to services, from 12:00-1:00 PM. This will be followed by the internment at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV.
