Bernard Leroy Sproles

Bernard Leroy Sproles, 85, of Falls Mills Road, Bluefield, VA, passed away on November 14, 2021 at his home.

Born on August 10, 1936 in Bluefield, he was a son of the late Horace and Othey Katherine Hamm Sproles. He had been a resident of Tucson, AZ for 40 years and was a veteran of the US Navy serving in Vietnam. He was a retired truck driver.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Naoma Aliff Sproles of the home; Daughter, Calesa (Greg) Reminton of Fancy Gap, VA; sons, Arnold (Drema) Sproles of Bluewell and Darren (Joyce) Sproles of Falls Mills, VA; grandchildren, Alex (Jessie) Webb, Kami (Matt) Compton, and Thome Sproles; great grandchildren, Travis and Sarah Webb, Matthew Webb, Reece, CharliAnn and Calli; and great-great grandchildren, Evin, Rilee and Griffin; a brother, Donald Baker of Pounding Mill, VA, and sister, Shirley Levredge of Jacksonville, FL.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Gary Pennington officiating. Military honors will be performed by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell.
