Barbara Carlton

Barbara N. Carlton, 84, of Bluefield, VA, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at her home.  Born May 28, 1936 in Bassett, VA, Barbara was a daughter of the late Sidney and Doris Whitlow. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Crutchfield; two brothers, Sidney Marshall Whitlow and Stephen G. Whitlow; one sister, Brenda Bowman and brother-in-law, Clifford Bowman; and one special nephew, Mark Whitlow.

Those left to cherish Barbara’s memory are her son, John Edward Crutchfield, Jr. of Suffolk, VA; daughter, Deborah Jean Crutchfield of Newark, DE; brother, Phillip Anthony Whitlow and wife, Jane of Monroe, NC; and sister, Janice Jennings and husband, James of Panama City, FL.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, March 25 2021 at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA with Rev. Shawn Boone officiating. There will be no public visitation at the funeral home.  Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Carlton family.
