Arnella Lillian Beggs

Arnella Lillian Beggs, age 86, of Rock, WV passed away at the home of her daughter in Bluewell, WV on Thursday, May 20, 2021 following a brief illness. She was of the Christian faith and was a lifelong homemaker. Born November 10, 1934 in Ashland, WV, Lillian was a daughter of the late Aaron G. Cecil and Lalar Mae Turman Cecil.  She was a homemaker and lived most of her life on Windmill Gap Mountain.  Lillian had several hobbies including being a seamstress and quilter. She also enjoyed her flowers, gardening and reading. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene D. Beggs, a son, Timothy E. Beggs, 7 brothers, 4 sisters, and a beloved son-in-law, Alvin L. Grose.

Lillian is survived by two daughters, Pamela Grose of Bluewell, WV, and Gretchen Buckalew and husband, Tim of Rock, WV; one son, Jason Beggs of Rock, WV; daughter-in-law, Margaret Phillips of Rock, WV; one sister, Yvonne Cecil of Ocala, FL; 9 grandchildren, Paul Phillips, Michelle Whittaker, Heather Phillips, Preston Beggs, Matthew Grose, Andrew Grose, Tabitha Buckalew, Sabrina Buckalew, and Gabrielle Beggs; and 8 great-grandchildren. The family would like to offer a thank you to her special granddaughters, Tabitha Buckalew and Sabrina Buckalew for their many years of loving care and help to their beloved Maw maw. Also, a special thank you to the Hospice Compassus staff for the wonderful care they provided.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday, May24, 2021 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Pastor N.R. Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens where Jason Beggs, Paul Phillips, Preston Beggs, Matthew Grose, Andrew Grose and Steve Johnson serving as pallbearers.
