Ardell "Roy" Greer Jr.

Ardell “Roy” Greer Jr., 74, of Anawalt, WV passed away on, Thursday, June 30, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his family. Born on May 15, 1948, in Lackie, WV, he was a son of the late Ardell and Julia Graham Greer Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Anawalt, WV and was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. Roy served in the Vietnam War with the United States Marine Corps. He was also a retired coal miner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Dwayne Greer, one brother, and several sisters. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 34 years, Sandra Scarbough Greer of the home; stepdaughter, Amy Dotson of Bluefield, VA; brother, Arthur Greer of Conklintown, WV; grandchildren, Skyler and Hunter Dotson of Welch, WV and Jackson Duncan of Tazewell, VA. As well as special friends, Danny Walker and Nathan Hale, both of Anawalt, WV. Graveside rites will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Boot Hill Cemetery in Anawalt, WV with Rev. Nicholas Marrs officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at the time of service. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell is serving the Greer family.
