Archie Kegley Hunnell

Archie K Hunnell, 76 of Worth, WV passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on May 21, 2022.

Born on December 09, 1945 in Elkhorn, WV he was the son of the late Ernest Paul Hunnell, Sr and Stella K Lowe Hunnell.  He was a lifelong resident of McDowell County.  He was a retired roof bolter with 30 plus years of employment with US Steel.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Nellie Loretta Hunnell Crigger, Ernest Paul Hunnell, Jr., and Ray Michael Hunnell. 

Survivors include his wife of 29 years Sharon Bailey Hunnell of the home; son Joseph Matthew Hunnell of the home; daughter, Barbara East and husband Greg of Princeton, WV; sisters Patricia Surber and husband Tom of King, NC; Phylis Martin of Princeton, WV; brother Donnie Hunnell of Ashland, WV; granddaughter Trystann Traynor; grandsons James Horvath and Gavin Traynor. 

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday May 26,2022 at 2:00pm at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Pastor Aaron Edwards officiating.  Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Pallbearers will be Joseph Hunnell, James Horvath, Gavin Traynor, Greg East, Robert Reece, Tom Surber, and Jason Tabor.  Honorarary Pallbearers will be Clyde Isom, Billy Ratliff and Kenneth Bailey. 

Friends may call at the funeral home prior to services, from 1:00-2:00 PM, on Thursday

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Amedisys Hospice, 545 Airport Road Suite 201 Bluefield WV.
