On August 20, 2025, at 12:07 a.m. at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, WV beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother Annie Foust, 87, went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Carl Fogle and Mary Jane Clark Fogle of New Haven, KY.
Annie moved to Gary, WV from Georgetown, KY in 1972 with her husband, the late Jesse Foust, and their five children when he was employed with U.S. Steel. She worked retail in the shoe department at Buddy’s Discount Store in Welch, WV for several years. She was a faithful member of the Worldwide Church of God congregation in the Bluefield, WV area and later the United Church of God in Bluefield, WV. She moved to Winfield, WV to live with her daughter, Elizabeth Foust O’Quinn, shortly after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s at the age of 74. She enjoyed life to the fullest even after her diagnosis, often going for walks, to restaurants and on road trips with her daughter and son-in-law. She was a resident at Genesis Putnam Care and Rehabilitation Center in Teays Valley, WV the last 2.5 years where she required in depth care. She deeply loved the workers there and was lovingly called “Mammaw Annie” by several of the Nursing attendants, who would come to her room to “sing” with her.
Her hobbies included reading, especially her bible, antiquing and flea-marketing and spending time with family and friends. She and her husband, Jesse, were wonderful cooks and published several recipes in Cooks Magazine earlier in their life together.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jesse J. Foust, her eldest daughter, Catherine L. Foust, her parents, brothers Joseph Edward Fogle of Bardstown, KY and Thomas P. Fogle along with his wife, Esther Fogle of Georgetown, KY, her sisters Jean Marie Fogle (infant), Mary Alice Fogle McDonough of Louisville, KY, Mary Imelda Fogle Wissing and husband Charles Wissing of Louisville, KY, and one nephew Michael Wissing of Louisville, KY.
Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth (Foust) Chambers O’Quinn and her husband, Robert O’Quinn of Winfield, WV; son Joseph Anthony Gerard Foust (Joey) and his wife, Jennifer Foust of Chester, VA; son Timothy Allen Foust and his wife, Tissel Joy Foust of Malaybalay City, PHI; Kelley Dean Foust of Lynchburg, VA., and Sister-in-law Norma Fogle of Bardstown, KY.
Surviving Grandchildren are Matthew Bryan Chambers of Pittsburgh, PA; Sierra Foust Stevenson and her husband, Brandon Stevenson of Bristol, VA; Victoria Foust Sanchez and her husband, Mariano Sanchez of Jonesboro, TN; Robert Alexander (Alex) O’Quinn of Winfield, WV and Nicholas (Nick) David Foust of Mechanicsville, VA. Surviving Great-Grandchildren are Adeline, Bristol and Arthur Stevenson of Bristol, VA.
Annie is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation and Funeral Service will be conducted at Craven-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield, WV on Wednesday September 3 @ 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. respectively. Interment to follow @12:00 pm Roselawn Cemetary, Bluefield, WV.
