Andy Raisovich, Jr.

September 9, 1940 — April 10, 2026

Listen to Obituary

Andy Raisovich Jr left his earthly home April 10th, 2026, surrounded by his precious daughter and granddaughter who were the light of his life. Andy was born on September 9th, 1940, as a resident of O’toole WV. Later, he settled in Montcalm WV where he lived and raised his son and daughter. He was a perfectly devoted Daddy and Papaw. He lived his life for his children and later on for his granddaughter. Andy served in the US Army. He served a year in Korea prior to being assigned to the 11th Air Assault (test) in Fort Benning Georgia. Once the 11th proved itself, it became the First Calvary Division. He was then shipped from South Carolina through the Panama Canal taking thirty-one days to arrive in Vietnam where he ran the POW compound until the end of his tour of service. Andy was a simple man and believed that all you needed was your family that you cherish and love, a few good friends, coon hunting, and the Lord. Andy was the best Daddy and Papaw that God could have given to a family. After serving in Vietnam, Andy spent his time doing what he loved the most which was coon hunting, being an amazing father, working as a carpenter, and later becoming an amazing grandfather. He not only built things with his hands, but he also built the foundation of his family with his kind heart, love, and good morals. Andy was preceded in death by his father and mother Andy and Milicia Raisovich, brothers Lewis, Eli, Robert, George, and baby brother Michael as well as one sister Rose. Those left on Earth to carry his legacy include his daughter Anne Raisovich and one son in law who he cherished Chuck Nixon, his son Andy Raisovich III and his wife Joanie, his one and only precious granddaughter Abigail Ganoe, his grandson by love Jeremey Graham and his wife and baby Kirsten and Parker. Five nieces and two nephews remain as well. Pallbearers will be his precious granddaughter Abigail Ganoe, Charles Nixon, Norman Parks, Jeremey Graham, Stewart Dickerson, and Charles Nixon II. The family wants to give a special thank you to Felicity Mounts Auville who not only helped care for Andy in his last days but also spent many nights in the mountain's coon hunting with him. Rev Dallas Mills and long-time friend who served with Andy in Vietnam will be officiating. Services will be held Tuesday April 14th, 2026. Friends and family are welcome from 12-1 and the funeral will follow at 1:00. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where military honors will be performed by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard. After the service at Roselawn Cemetery, friends and family will be joining together at Montcalm Pentecostal Holiness Church.
