Alice Catherine Pennington

Alice C. Poole Pennington, 91, a longtime resident of Montcalm, WV, left this world on April 29, 2025 after a short illness.

Alice was born on April 17, 1934 in Goodwill, WV to Jim & Leslie Poole. She was a graduate of Bramwell High School (1952). She was an employee of the Bluefield Daily Telegraph for twenty years. Alice was a faithful & active member of the Montcalm Church of Christ for 73 years & served as treasurer for over 40 years. 

Alice is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years; Harold (Bo) W. Pennington Sr; son Harold (Hal) W. Pennington Jr of Huntsville, AL; her dedicated cousin & caregiver William (Billy) R. Stump & many cousins, nieces & nephews.

Alice was known for her warm & caring personality. She had a generous heart, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her kindness & compassion touched the lives of many. Alice's memory will be forever cherished by her family & friends. Her legacy as a wife, mother & friend will endure, & her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew her. We all deserve to be remembered by how we lived. 

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Ministers Eddie Via and Tim Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the time of service. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens where men of the church will serve as pallbearers. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Pennington family.
