Albert Clayton Bishop, Sr.

Albert Clayton Bishop Sr., 72, of Greenville, WV, passed away at Roanoke Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. Born on September 22, 1950, in Welch, WV, he was a son of the late Ebert and Alta Branson Bishop. Albert loved Bluegrass and Christian music and dancing to them both. He was a retired coal miner.

In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by sister, Ona Lee Roberts; brother, Ebert Jasper Bishop Jr.; 4 nieces, and a nephew.

Albert is survived by his son, Albert Clayton Bishop Jr. and wife Kim of Glenwood, WV; daughter, Diana Godditti of Kentucky; sisters, Mary Jane Steele and husband Darrell of Bluefield, WV, Anna Pruitt and husband Bill of Thomasville, NC; Freddie Ray (and companion Debbie) Bishop of Brushfork, WV; a grandson; two granddaughters; a great granddaughter; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and a very cherished friend, June Prynest.

A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Memorial Park with  Dr. Doug Hyndrich officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Woodlawn Mausoleum. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
