Agnes Marie Cox Thompson Sexton, 84, of Princeton, WV, passed Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Mercer Nursing and Rehab in Bluefield, WV.
Born April 14, 1941, in Hemphill, WV, Agnes was a daughter of the late Charles F. and Lily Young Cox. Agnes was a high school graduate worked diligently as a homemaker. She found joy in caring for her rose garden. Agnes was a resident of Princeton for eight years and was of the First Church of God faith.
In addition to her parents, Anges was preceded in death by her first husband, Bradley Thompson, her second husband, Herman Sexton, brothers, Charlie "Buddy" Cox, Carlos Cox, and Ray Cox, and sisters, Emmaline Sigmon, Ella Mae High, and Georgia Love.
Those left to cherish Agnes' memory are her son, Darrell Thompson and wife Drema of South Charleston, WV; brother-in-law, Bobby Sigmon of Callaway, VA; sister-in-law, Julia Whittaker of Princeton, WV; lifelong friend and caregiver Connie Williamson of Princeton, WV; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM at The Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell, WV, with Rev. Gerald Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Friends may call one hour prior to the services, from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
