Carl William Thomas, Sr.

Carl William Thomas, Sr., age 57, of 1806 Virginia Avenue, Bluefield, VA, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2011 following a long illness. Born on June 15, 1954 in Bluefield, he was a son of the late Herbert and Viola Jane Baker Thomas. He had been a resident of Bluefield for his entire life and was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. He was a former employee for the City of Bluefield, WV and a former coal miner. He was a veteran of the US Marines. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Thomas. Survivors include: Wife: Margaret Stephenson Thomas of the home 2 sons: Carl Thomas, Jr. of Bluefield, VA Derek Thomas and Fiancé Kimberly Bell of Princeton 4 grandchildren: Melissa, Donovan, Cloe, and Riley 1 Brother: Danny C. Thomas and wife Connie of FL 1 sister: Shelia Willis and husband Walter of Bluefield, WV A host of nieces and nephews Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 21, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Brenda Miller officiating. Following services, it was his wishes to be cremated. Friends may call on Friday from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
