Gene Franklin Kirby

Gene Franklin Kirby, age 70, of Route 5 Box 420-D, Bluefield, WV, went to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, September 26, 2011 at his home. Born on August 12, 1941 in Mercer County, he was a son of Edith Taylor Kirby of Rt. 4, Bluefield and the late Olen Giles Kirby. He had been a resident of Mercer County since 1951 and was a retired truck driver. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Aldine Kirby and Wanda Dunford; and a brother, Raymond Giles Kirby. Survivors include: Mother: Edith Taylor Kirby of Rt. 4, Bluefield 1 son: Gene Franklin Kirby, Jr. of Princeton 3 daughters: Kim Kirby of DE Vickie Daniels of Roanoke, VA Trina Morgan of Lenoir, NC 9 grandchildren 2 brothers: Grover Kirby of Rt. 5, Bluefield Jason C. Kirby of Parkersburg 2 sisters: Carolyn Kirby of Rt. 4 Bluefield Sherry Lynn Kirby of Princeton In keeping with Mr. Kirby’s wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no services.
