Danny L. Salyer

Danny L. (Wimmer) Salyer, age 51, of 182 Nebraska Avenue, Bluefield, VA, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on June 25, 1959 in Bluefield, he was a son of Dennis Lowell Wimmer of Bluewell and Thelma Mitchelson Wimmer of Bluefield. He was of the Protestant faith. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Morris & Ethel Wimmer; and maternal grandparents, Mary & Gilbert Salyer. Survivors in addition to his parents, include: Wife: Marlene Salyer of the home Son: Brandon Thomas Salyer of the home Daughter: Sarah Salyer of Bluewell Stepmother: Carolyn Wimmer of Bluewell Stepdaughter: Alecia Bailey and Terry of Hickory, NC Brothers: Billy Wimmer and Darla of Bluewell Morris Wimmer and Selina of Green Valley Stepsister: Beatrice Gilley of Brandon, FL Stepbrother: Curtis Salyer of and wife June of Burkburnett, TX Special friend: Sandy Hampton of Tazewell , VA His saving angel: Kathy Smith of Total Home Health Care and Hospice of Bluefield, VA Special aunt: Anne Nash and Gene of Bluewell Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Anne Nash and Rev. Bruce Barillo officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Friends may call on Friday from 6-9PM at the Funeral home in Bluewell.
